Charity: Nelia van Deventer, FAMSA Upington
We have been very busy bees this month at FAMSA. The month started with a visit form Magda (Vodacom). It was very nice to talk to someone about our plans and how everything is going along.
FAMSA’s community workers did a lot of work that was focused on child protection month. This involved group workshops with parents, puppet shows at schools and colouring competitions.
I visited two of our offices this month. The first was Prieska, what a pleasure. They are busy with the new business plans and a health project. The second site visit was to Springbok and Port Nolth. We made a quick stop at the Springbok office and proceed to the west coast town Port Nolth. We had a morning long meeting with Department of Social services and discussed the current situation of the ISIBINDI project. There after we visited some of the vegetable gardens – what a nice experience.
Please follow me on Facebook nelia.vandeventerctw and on Twitter @Nelia_CtW. I will keep you posted.
I travelled to Kimberley to visit SEFA and the NYDA – hold your thumbs I will be submitting proposals to them the first week of July.
The business of any NPO is to keep at it and keep sending in proposals to ensure a sustainable future. So I am spending a most of my time writing proposals.
I will keep you updated regarding official loading of our website, Facebook page and twitter handle. FAMSA’s new marketing material is also well on its way and will be delivered in the new month.
