Charity: Tammy Dutton, NOAH, Umhlanga
With my first month at NOAH successfully under my belt, Month 2 proved to be a daily adventure.
Being afforded the privilige of spending a week in Johannesburg in order to attend the re-drafting of the Children's Act, was instrumental in educating me on various Norms and Standards set out by the Department Of Social Development, regarding Early Childhood Development centres.
I was motivated to return to KZN to ensure that life for these vulnerable beauties could be as comfortable as possible. Vodacom came to the party (literally!) by conducting Health and Safety checks which would greatly assist me with regards to pointing me in the right direction.
May taught me the value of perseverance. It provided daily opportunities for me to be humbled by the responsibility of fighting for justice on behalf of vulnerable children.
June promises to be a month of Action! With the groundwork laid for dramatic change to take place, we'll see this volunteer ruffle some feathers in order to achieve that which is right -- all with Vodacom and NOAH on either side.
Watch this space :) xx
