Fanie Serfontein (29), who is from Vereeniging, studied Graphic Design at the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) and graduated with a B.Tech. He is part of a group of young participants in this year’s Vodacom Change the World (CtW) volunteerism programme.
The 29-year-old will be volunteering his time as marketing strategist/digital designer at GF4GF Centres NPC in Groblershoop, Northern Cape for a period of a year. GF4GF Centres is a non-profit organisation (NPO) that deals with holistic community development using foundational training including moral values, work ethic and vocational skills training. GF4GF Centres develops young leaders and positive role models to have an impact in rural agricultural communities.
At the NPO, Fanie will be engaging communities, employers and corporates to connect with the NPO, primarily through the use of mobile- and web based technology.
Fanie says what motivated him to apply for the CtW programme is the opportunity to add strategic knowledge to GF4GF’s marketing and community engagement campaigns.
