Chris Calitz holds a B. Com degree, Masters in Business Administration as well as a Project Management Professional. He is a full time Vodacom staff member and will spend 12 months on the Vodacom Change the World programme, working as a Project Manager for Southern African NGO Network (SANGONeT).
SANGONeT was founded in 1987. Over the past 28 years, the organisation has developed into a dynamic civil society organisation (CSO) with a history closely linked to the social and political changes experienced by South Africa during its transition to democracy.
SANGONeT is one of very few non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Africa involved in the field of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) and continues to serve civil society with a wide range of ICT products and services.
Chris has 33 years’ work experience, 18 years as a business analyst and project manager at Vodacom, and he plans to put this experience to good use working SANGONeT. His project will investigate the feasibility of providing some telecommunication products and services onto the SANGONeT product bouquet that could benefit all NPO’s in South Africa.
- To assist SANGONeT to expand their customers base;
- A report on the products and service used by NGO’s in South Africa;
- Pilot project with at least 10 NPO’s and
- A recommendation to the Vodafone Foundation to undertake similar projects in other countries.
