Charity: Bright Start

I am a 24-year-old graduate from the University of the Witwatersrand. I hold a BSc honours in Psychology. I chose Bright Start, an education support programme, as my NPO for the Vodacom Change the World initiative 2013 because I value my own education and I am grateful for the doors it has opened and will open in the future. I believe wholeheartedly the words of Nelson Mandela - "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." And that is what I am striving to do with the Vodacom Change the World initiative and Bright Start.

My Background:

  • Graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand
  • Holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Psychology (Bsc) and a Bachelor of Science Hounours degree in Psychology (Bsc Hons)
  • Volunteered at a psychology practice, assisting with psychological and neuropsychological cases involving both adults and children
  • Au Paired for 3 children in Cape Town
  • Volunteered to help out at toy libraries in various townships in Johannesburg
  • Aspire to study for my masters in clinical psychology
